Reduced tickets will be given to high school and university students, people doing compulsory military or civil service, catholic priests and members of catholic orders. At the entrance of the Hofburg the presentation of an appropriate ID will be required. No age limit!

Are you looking for a package where everything is included and looked after? Our VIP package provides you with an all-inclusive ball evening. You and your companion start the evening with a festive 4-course-menu at this imperial location, afterwards you can enjoy the ball (the entrance tickets are already included) with a seating in the main hall. Finally you will receive a small present.

Ticket sale

You can buy tickets and reserve seats at the ball

  1. using our online system or
  2. personally during the sales times at our ball office or from the ticket desk on the night of the ball.

When buying card via our online system, we offer three different delivery methods:

  • digital delivery via Print@Home: After having successfully ordered the tickets you will receive an email containing the invoice and a second one with the tickets. Please print the tickets and bring them with you to the ball.
  • shipping: Orders that have been placed before November, 30th will be posted on December, 10th. All later orders will be posted on February, 1st. After this date no shipment of tickets is possible. (Attention: When using this delivery method additional shipping fees – 10 € for delivery within Austria, 15 € for all other countries – apply!)
  • ticket collection at the ball office or at the ball entrance: We will keep the tickets for you and you can collect them during the times of the advance sale at our ticket office or on the day of the ball at the ball entrance.

Please note:

  • You need an admission ticket to enter the ball. This ticket does NOT include a seat reservation.
  • A seat reservation does NOT include the admission to the ball. You must purchase an admission ticket.
  • Food and drink is NOT included in the ticket price, but can ordered and paid for on the night.

Ball ticket office

The evening ticket office at the Hofburg opens at 7:00 p.m. on the night of the ball (doors open at 7:30 p.m.). Remaining tickets will be sold at no extra charge.

We regret that once sold, we cannot offer any refunds on admission tickets or table reservations.

Dress code

Ladies: Long evening gown with mask (no pantsuits, cocktail dresses, traditional costumes)

Gentlemen: Black tail with white bow te, black tie (tuxedo) or uniform (only official and currently used)

Smoking prohibited in the entire Hofburg including e-cigarettes.

The designated smoking area is in an inyard called "Gardehof" on the ground level. It is accessible near the main staircase on the left hand side.
